Porous Materials

MOFs, Zeolites, Hierarchical Materials

The porous materials group investigates the synthesis and functionalization of a variety of porous materials such as metal-organic frameworks, zeolites, mesoporous silica and organo-silica and carbons.

A special focus is on hierarchically porous materials and the utilization and development of sorption- and spectroscopy-based characterization techniques for exploring chemical, textural, crystallographic and macroscopic properties.

The porous materials are typically tested in a wide field of applications ranging from gas storage over chromatographic gas and particle separation to catalysis.
